A Change, Of Course!

Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything. - Albert Einstein

The human mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions. - Oliver Wendell Holmes

A few weeks ago, we here at Six Voices initiated a little experiment. We started encouraging our clients to give their apps away for free. That's right! Free. Overnight, we saw downloads of our clients' iPhone apps go through the roof. In almost all instances where our clients gave away their apps, downloads of their Tapstacks went up by an average of 1000%! The results of that experiment have changed the way we see Tapstack and much of the work we have done thus far.

But why give away apps? What could anyone possibly hope to get out of that practice? Christianretailing.com recently interviewed Sarah Felkey, the marketing manager of one of our first clients: Standard Publishing. She points to two very good reasons why "free" is the way forward:

"We are reaching an entirely new audience who might not have known about Purpose-Filled Presentations otherwise. By offering this app, we generate sales for the book, but we're also getting valuable content out to more people through this channel."

The President of Standard Publishing, Larry Carpenter, also sees the free experiment as a success:

"This first application was intended to gauge the response to this new content delivery method. With this level of demand, we are pursuing more mobile applications."

By giving away a fantastic product that previews unique content, a new horizon of clients and customers opens up. And iPhone users everywhere get a taste of great content, leaving them hungry for more. We're adapting to this new possibility by envisioning Tapstack less as a "book-on-iPhone" app and more of an unbelievably successful marketing tool for authors and publishers across the globe.

Nooma Rain | 001 Now Available on the iTunes App Store

Six Voices is thrilled to announce that the first of the Nooma short form films is now available on the iTunes App Store. We are thrilled to be working with Flannel to bring the thought-provoking musings of Rob Bell to iPhones and iPods the world over.

The Nooma films are being brought to iTunes on our slick new content delivery framework called Roll. Roll is an awesome tool for filmakers and corporations alike, enabling them to make their content available to pockets around the globe via the iTunes Store.

But Roll isn't just about film. It's so much more than that. Sure, it offers the capability of self-contained video replay on the iPhone and iPod Touch... If it stopped there, what would be different about it? Roll takes video on the iPhone to a whole new level. Roll offers features such as study guides, commentaries, and other supplements that add value to each short film. Our users can then take those same discussion guides to a new level with Roll's network connected Group Mode. Pick a leader and everyone else's phone follows that person's path through the film's supplements. We invite you to purchase Nooma Rain today and check out what all the buzz is about!

If you would like to explore bringing your content to the iPhone and iPod Touch, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
